Story

My name is Antonio.

I was fortunate to be born and raised in Costa Rica, a magical land of beaches, volcanoes, lush nature, and some of the finest coffee in the world. Coffee was always around me growing up, but I will admit I did not fully appreciate its depth and beauty until I began exploring it intentionally, tasting, learning, and discovering how complex it could be.

I became passionate about coffee, about the way certain flavors shine while others support them, about the balance between sweetness and bitterness, and the craftsmanship behind every step. As I traveled the world, I found myself at home in specialty coffee shops, seeking out that perfect cup and the feeling that came with it.

The name Yodo is rooted in Costa Rican slang for coffee and inspired by its deep, rich color, like iodine in Spanish. It is a word my family used growing up, one that evokes warmth, ritual, and connection. With Yodo, I am honoring my country’s coffee heritage while reimagining what coffee can be, something mindful, elevated, and designed to bring people together.
